How Polymer Type Works？

The different types of polymers have very different molecular structures, which determine the different melting points and rheological properties. For each polymer raw material, there is a corresponding meltblowing process, such as in the heating temperature, screw aspect ratio, screw form, raw material drying process and other aspects have certain differences.

Olefin polymer raw materials (such as Melt Blown Polypropylene Granules) polymerization degree is high, so the heating temperature is higher than its melting point of more than 100 ℃ to smooth meltblown, and polyester heating temperature is slightly higher than its melting point can be meltblown. Olefin polymer raw materials contain almost no water, so meltblown generally do not need to dry. Polyester contains a trace of water, heating due to the presence of water will lead to the hydrolysis of esters, resulting in non-woven product quality is not conducive to the side reactions, so the slices must be dried.

Therefore, polypropylene is chosen as the meltblown material, which does not need to be dried and is much more convenient compared to polyester.
