Thermoplastic Elastomer

Thermoplastic elastomers, also known as TPEs, are a highly versatile material that can be easily processed using a variety of methods. These materials are made up of a combination of thermoplastics, which provide strength and rigidity, and elastomers, which give the material its elasticity and flexibility.

One common way of processing TPEs is through injection molding. Injection molding allows for the efficient production of complex and detailed parts, making it an ideal choice for manufacturers. During the injection molding process, TPE pellets are melted and injected into a mold where they cool and solidify into the desired shape.

Extrusion is another popular processing method for TPEs. Extrusion involves melting the TPE pellets and then pushing the material through a die to create a continuous shape such as tubing, profiles or filaments. Extrusion is often used in the production of small to medium-sized parts and can also produce certain shapes that cannot be made through injection molding.
