TPO roofing membrane is an ideal waterproof solution for large-scale public buildings such as sports stadiums, museums, airports, and exhibition centers. The TPO roofing membrane can be applied using two methods, each suited for different building roof scenarios.

Method One: The Void Type
The TPO roofing membrane is placed under the metal roofing panel and above the insulation layer (or sound insulation layer). The membrane is mechanically fixed or fully adhered, with the seams welded using hot air. The upper purlin is connected to the main structure through the column. The column is wrapped with a TPO roofing membrane flashing to provide an independent, complete waterproof layer.
This method is suitable for buildings with complex shapes and roof contours. The large gap between the metal panel and the TPO roofing membrane creates a void, hence the name void type.

Method Two: The Flush Type
The TPO roofing membrane is laid under the metal roofing panel and attached firmly to the sub-purlin using metal supports and sealant or adhesive tapes. The seams are welded using hot air. The spacing between the metal panel and the waterproof membrane is small, hence the name flush or tight fit.
This method is suitable for buildings with a gently sloping roof contour. The TPO roofing membrane is welded onto the sub-purlin with sealant or adhesive tape instead of a separate flashing.
